Samfiru Tumarkin LLP is searching for a full-time Content Writer to join the firm’s fun, fast-paced and hardworking Marketing Hub. As a member of the marketing team, you will craft exceptional content to educate the public on their legal rights, expand the firm’s online presence, and ultimately generate more clients.
The Content Writer reports to the Marketing and Media Relations Manager and Digital Marketing Manager.
What your role involves
· Writing original content on the firm website, including news articles, blogs, pages, guides, legal representative bios, internal job postings.
· Modifying and refreshing old or outdated content to ensure maximum ranking and conversion.
· Fulfilling internal and external content requests, while proactively pitching ideas to keep our content machine well fed on an ongoing basis.
· Creating unique material and editing work submitted by our legal representatives for external advertorial and native campaigns.
· Working closely with the firm’s legal representatives to generate content across various regions.
· Assisting with the development and maintenance of our content strategy.
· Routinely monitoring and measuring content performances (using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console and Ahrefs) to provide reports, recommendations and to identify new content opportunities.
· Monitoring competitor content and strategy with the goal of modifying or enhancing our own approach.
· Providing support for other members of the marketing team where and when necessary.
· Staying up to date on the latest content and marketing trends and best practices so that the firm can maximize its content potential.
· Attending staff seminars and social events, potentially outside of standard business hours if required.
The skills you should have
· Post-secondary education or diploma, with a preferred focus on communications, journalism, marketing or law
· 3-5 years’ experience in content writing or marketing
· Experience in legal marketing (Ontario, BC and/or Alberta) and knowledge of best practices is an asset
· Proficiency in translating complex concepts (legal “jargon”) into clear and simple language
· Superb writing and communication skills (familiarity with AP or CP writing styles), with attention to detail, spelling and grammar
· Ability to research and write interesting, comprehensive, compelling and error-free content
· Strong organizational skills fused with the ability to adapt quickly
· Finger on the pulse of current affairs, continuous news cycle, and the latest legal developments and court decisions
· Confidence to bring content ideas to the table and execute tasks that are provided
· Solid understanding of SEO, SEM, HTML and experience with general marketing systems and software (CRM, marketing platforms)
· Experience with content management systems (WordPress preferred) and content management tools (Ahrefs preferred)
· Understanding of social media (Twitter, Facebook) and social media platforms
