There are over 77,000 students who attend different schools and programs within Surrey, and over 13,000 staff employed to support these student learners. There are 1400 students at Earl Marriott Secondary. French Immersion, Co-op, First Nations, International, Fine Arts and Connections programs. Staff focus on student engagement through school wide practices. Departmental collaboration and strong traditions of excellence in all curricular and extracurricular areas, including athletics, and fine arts.
The new Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (ADST) curriculum is an experiential, hands-on program of learning through design and creation that includes skills and concepts from traditional and Aboriginal practice; from the existing disciplines of Business Education, Home Economics, Information Technology, and Technology Education.
Industrial Technology is designed to teach students a hands-on approach to learning. Students start learning the basic skills that can lead to careers in Trades and Technology. In junior grades, students will be introduced to safe use of machines, while creating a variety of exciting projects. Courses are designed to give the students a basic knowledge and the ability to continue into the senior courses.
Students will demonstrate their learning through variety of labs and projects. In senior years the courses can become more specific. They can choose the technology of interest to them.
The position includes: Woodwork Gr. 9-12 and Design Technology Gr. 9/10
