Masters Degree in Counselling required Program for students experiencing social, emotional and mental health related challenges. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the current classroom teacher(s), Educational Assistants and Child and Youth Care Workers.

• Provide direct case-management and personal counselling to students with mental health concerns.
• Works with the classroom teachers to provide appropriate accommodations and strategies for students in relation to their IEP.
• Provides an emotionally supportive environment for students with emotional challenges/internalizing and externalizing behaviours/school avoidance and refusal/serious mental health barriers.
• Provide supplemental academic support (focused instructional support) to students
• Works directly with students in a “wrap-around” model to develop comprehensive multidisciplinary support plans.
• Liaise with outside agency personnel to collaborate and coordinate supports for students.
• Coordinate and deliver a range of assessments as appropriate.

• Participate as a key member of the School Based Team. • Working with the School Based Counsellor, District Counsellor and Manager of Prevention and School Wellness for Prevention Programs, the counsellor develops and supports a collaborative, school-wide, mental wellness plan that includes professional learning opportunities for teachers and support staff.
