Senior Manager, Business Investment

Purpose
The Senior Manager, Business Investment is responsible for the governance of Canadian Banking and Global Wealth Management’s strategic investment spend.
Key responsibilities of the mandate include i) advancing business cases through the review and approval process in-line with project policy and standards, ii) managing financial reporting and continuously improving financial intelligence and providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations and ii) governance of initiatives through the investment lifecycle.
The overall accountabilities support decision making by senior and executive management and key stakeholders within and outside the Division.
Accountabilities

Ensure effective financial management of investment spend including guiding new investment proposals through the formal business case process, reviewing current investments and managing the ongoing measurement of benefit realization

Work with key stakeholders to continuously understand upcoming areas of spend / investment need, within affordability

Drive effective resource utilization and capacity with technology partners during plan and ongoing throughout the year

Maintain processes to meet / exceed all project governance standards as developed by the Divisional and Executive Project Management Offices and audit

Continuously challenge existing processes and standards within and outside the team

Drive a customer focused culture to deepen relationships across the Bank

Respond to ad-hoc requests as required
Education/Work Experience/Designations
-
Accounting designation an asset
-
University degree (preferably MBA, or finance/business)
-
Minimum of 5-10 years of banking experience
-
Strong knowledge of the banking industry and the Canadian Banking and Global Wealth Management Divisions

Very strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-
Demonstrated relationship management expertise
