Scott Steel Erectors Looking for Construction Project Manager at Wawa, ON Full Time

Scott Steel Erectors is a privately owned Canadian company that supplies and installs steel building systems for use in industrial, commercial, agricultural, recreational and institutional applications across Canada and abroad. Founded in 1989, SSE has steadily grown over the last 40 years while taking pride in the quality of their work. Today Scott Steel Erectors is one of the largest in its field of building systems in Canada.

Position: Project Manager – Magino Gold Mine Project, Wawa ON

The Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of projects from conception to completion. This position is responsible for coordinating resources, subcontractors, and any other third parties involved in the project

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage projects of varying contract type, scope and size in both a sub-contractor and design-build/GC role for both pre-eng and conventional

· Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs

· Prepare overall manpower and time schedule for all jobs that the company is awarded, updating schedules at the end of each week

· Collect actual man hours, crane times and equipment use and monitor against what was estimated

· Work with Foremen and Operations Manager to order all equipment and materials for the job that may be required by the field crew

· Forecast and schedule travel and accommodations for crew as required

· Develop and implement procedures for contract, schedule, budget, quality, document and communications management

· Tailor and apply QA/QC program for every project, and manage the Foreman’s completion and adherence to the program

· Coordinate extra work orders, address non-conformance reports as they arise, direct company regarding invoicing to client, and approve payables that are specific to the project

· Prepare estimates for design-build jobs

· Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions

· Direct company regarding invoicing and approve payables specific to the project

· Select and coordinate subcontractors

· Work with Foremen to determine erection procedures and coordinate with outside engineer to prepare engineered bay lift drawings as required for each job

· Work with Foremen to prepare proposed detail drawings as required for approval by customer/consultants for field installation

· Work with Foremen to order material (miscellaneous flashings, etc.) as required per job

· Report the overall progress of the jobs on a weekly basis to the Operations Manager

· Attend all client, project site, and subcontractor meetings as required

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a Project Management role

· Pre-engineered building experience

· Able to read building drawings and visualize in 3D

· Strong mathematical skills, strong communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, consultants, suppliers and coworkers;

· Strong problem solving, critical thinking, job task planning and organizational skills. Architectural or Engineering Technologist, Engineer-in-Training, or equivalent experience and aptitude

· Working knowledge of current construction practices and methodology

· Experience with Sage 300 would be an asset

· PRIMAVERA P6 EXPERIENCE AN ASSET

· Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, Visio, Project, & VP Command)

· Effective communication skills, both oral and written

· Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills

· Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

· Education/proficiency with CAD or BIM is considered an asset

· Previous experience with Procore is considered an asset

· PMP or CAPM Certification is considered an asset
