Our client, a well-established and busy mid-sized company in the Tillsonburg, ON area is currently seeking to add an experienced Accounting Supervisor to their accounting team for a direct hire role. The numbers driven, analytical candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Controller maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounts payable and receivable sub-ledgers and monthly account reconciliations.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Accounts Receivable:
· Correspondence with client/customers for account inquiries/reconciliations as needed
· Prepare & generate statutory declarations and WSIB clearance in a timely manner to ensure prompt payments
· Prepare monthly invoicing
· Review A/R weekly and make collection calls to clients
· Process all client or miscellaneous payments as required to sub-ledger
· Maintain and distribute accurate listing of overdue accounts. Refer overdue accounts to Controller for possible adjustments, write-off or collections.
· Generate & prepare statutory declarations and WSIB clearance in a timely manner to ensure prompt payments
· Maintain vehicle asset additions/disposals, year-end paperwork for corporate accountants & various other tracking systems ie fuel cards, store credit cards, transponders etc.
Accounts Payable & Payroll (support):
· Maintain a working knowledge for backup support for processing vendor and supplier invoices; verifying accuracy, approvals and account coding
· Prepares cheques and associated reports as needed
· Prepare and maintain pre-authorize payments monthly
· Prepare all Accounts Payable sub-ledger journals for posting to General Ledger monthly
· Reconcile Accounts Payable sub-ledger to General Ledger monthly
· Enter and reconcile cheques cashed to accounting software monthly
· Respond to vendor inquiries as required
· Prepare payroll every 4-6 weeks to maintain a working knowledge of payroll processes and software and provide backup as required
Other Duties:
· Prepare /monthly bank reconciliations
· Prepare weekly cash flow preparations for approval by the Controller
· Prepare monthly government remittances for approval & submission by the Controller
· Assist the Controller with monthly general ledger reconciliations as required
· Other GL processes as required
· Oversee and support duties of Accounting Clerk
· Act as back up for Controller role as needed
· Other general office duties as assigned
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
