Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform overview of new driver competency evaluations for mine drivers;
Perform in cab “ride a longs “with existing drivers as per annual target for mine drivers;
Perform driver delivery audit evaluations as per annual target for mine drivers;
Facilitate tailgate and one on one mine safety coaching with mine drivers;
Provide sufficient inventory to support driver requirements on site – HSE safety equipment / truck specific supplies;
Availability while on shift to respond to an event or service support requirements;
Driver support on mine property as required – unloading / site management / mine site specific training;
Complete and remain current on all training requirements to support drivers;
Conduct new or existing “plot plan “inspections and revisions for mine dispatch updates;
Facilitate and or assist with identification, reporting, logging, and monitoring of site deficiencies at mines or on route;
Liaise with customer as required for operational integrity;
Facilitate or assist with acquiring information relative to incidents;
Member of emergency response team including after hours on-call responsibilities;
Facilitate and/or assist in the academic training of new mine hires;
Facilitate and/or assist in the practical training of mine drivers;
Review driver speed and performance scorecards daily including real time coaching
Complete safety inspection reports on equipment daily
Be a subject matter expert on mine policies and procedures ensuring all employees and contractors are trained and adhere to those policies and procedures;
Work with the Mine Terminal Manager to increase retention of drivers and contractors
Working from remote locations for days at a time (overnight stays) is a requirement
Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
A valid Class 1 licenses
A clean driver’s abstract
3-5 years’ of relevant experience
A passion for safety and a record of safe practices in the workplace
Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to evaluate, train and manage drivers
The ability to self-manage and be productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
Great focus and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Strong organizational skills.
Proven ability to deal productively with internal and external customers
