Seafair Capital is seeking a Staffing Specialist to join our team in St. John’s.

We are looking for individuals who will ensure that the children, youth and adults we serve receive safe, supportive and nurturing care that fosters development and resiliency.

As a Staffing Specialist, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our Programming and Human Resources teams to effectively manage scheduling operations for our frontline employees. We consider our Staffing Specialists to be very versatile; they juggle multiple moving pieces, including but not limited to:

• Use scheduling software effectively to manage schedules for 200+ employees;
• Ensure employees are scheduled accurately and efficiently while adhering to the collective agreement;
• Approve time off requests, manage the employee relief pool and overtime distribution;
• Communicate and problem-solve effectively with managers and employees when schedule challenges arise;
• Resolve employee concerns/issues;
• Take into consideration the needs of clients, managers and employees, when making decisions, maintaining continuity of care whenever possible;
• Be accessible by phone for managers, employees, other stakeholders and respond to phone calls and emails in a timely manner; and
• Data entry, ensuring dated notes are timely and clear, and contain appropriate information.

As a Staffing Specialist, you will possess the following competencies:

• Communication Skills: you will need to speak with managers and frontline staff on a regular basis, therefore excellent telephone etiquette is necessary;
• Organizational Skills: coordinating multiple schedules, managing time off, answering phones, emails correspondence, to name a few;
• Problem-Solving Skills: you remain calm in stressful situations and tackle problems with a focus on finding positive solutions;
• Computer Proficiency: you must be comfortable using a computer for all aspects of your work and you will have an appreciation for technology;
• Detail oriented: there are many small, yet important, tasks that make the whole of this job and missing one can have a big impact;
• Post-secondary education in business, preferably with a human resources focus; and
• Experience working in human resources or scheduling is considered an asset.
• May have to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
