SearchLabs Looking for Site Superintendent Multi-Family Residential at Calgary, Alberta, Canada Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Project Management:
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction activities to meet project timelines.
• Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials and services.
• Manage project budget and expenses, including tracking costs and approving expenditures.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and complies with building codes and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify defects or deficiencies and take corrective actions as needed.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
• Team Leadership:
• Supervise and provide direction to on-site staff, including subcontractors, laborers, and other construction professionals.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to encourage teamwork and productivity.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure that all personnel adhere to project requirements and safety protocols.
• Communication:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and regulatory agencies.
• Communicate project status, issues, and updates effectively to all relevant parties.
• Address client concerns and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the construction process.
• Problem Solving:
• Identify potential challenges or obstacles and develop proactive solutions to mitigate risks and keep projects on track.
• Respond promptly to unforeseen issues or emergencies that may arise during construction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve disputes or conflicts in a fair and equitable manner.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in residential construction.
• Thorough knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage effectively and motivate on-site teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather and environments.
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites as needed.

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed on construction sites, which may involve exposure to hazards such as dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate project needs and deadlines.
