Position: Live-In Building Superintendent
Location: East Ottawa
Salary: Starting at $33,600 per year + 2-bedroom apartment with heating and Hydro benefits: 10 paid vacation days, health and dental after probation period
Job Type: Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (some evenings and weekends, on call as needed)

Are you looking for a live-in opportunity? Quantum is currently looking to staff two permanent positions for one of our clients in the property management sector.
Requirements:
– Proof of double vaccination or higher.
– High school diploma or equivalent with some technical courses (i.e., WHMIS)
– 2 to 3 years of experience in the field
– Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
– Experience in performing janitorial duties
– Advanced knowledge of Fire Safety Regulations and computerized security systems
– Experience in dealing with subcontractors and trades people
– Good knowledge of computer software, including Internet-based programs and ability to use a Blackberry or similar mobile device
– Hands-on experience in dealing with HVAC and boilers, elevators, fire safety and sprinkler systems, alarms, hydro vaults, and card access systems
– Exceptional customer service skills
– Good communication skills in English (French an asset)
– Ability to work unsupervised and work as part of a team
Responsibilities:
– Respond to all emergencies and tenant requests promptly and efficiently while performing routine preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, common areas, and external surroundings
– Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the building and surrounding grounds, including corridors, lobbies, stairwells, laundry rooms, storage areas, and vacated apartments
– Ensure the operation of all services such as heating, lighting, and plumbing required for the safe and efficient operation
– Work positively with other employees to achieve outcomes for long-term preventative maintenance
– Monitor risk areas and advise the Building Manager accordingly
– Maintain a pleasant, friendly and secure place for residents to live
