Position: Python Developer
Location: Toronto / Hybrid (3 times on-site/week)
Job Type: Permanent, full-timeOur client is a certified B Corp clean-tech software company that offers green-energy solutions to major Canadian clients, focusing on carbon emissions reduction through web-based tools. They are looking for an experienced Python Developer who will design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications, emphasizing proficiency in algorithms and data structures, and an ability to work independently on complex problem-solving. Responsibilities include coding, debugging, adhering to best practices, creating unit tests, integrating with third-party services, and collaborating with a development team to deliver high-quality software solutions.Key responsibilities:
– Work closely with various internal parties to identify potential applications of company data for business solutions
– Create and implement event-driven microservices
– Integrate stacks and unit tests into Code Build pipelines for smooth integration processes
– Collaborate with product owners and fellow developers to define new features and user stories for applications, including large-scale and intricate projects
– Actively engage in Agile ceremonies, such as planning, grooming, product demos, and retrospectives
– Develop and integrate algorithms to enhance platform functionality and establish unit tests for software reliability
Key Requirements:
– 2+ years of professional experience in coding and software development, demonstrating expertise in engineering practices
– Proficient in Python, with a deep understanding and practical application
– Knowledgeable about web services, including APIs, REST, and RPC, reflecting familiarity with current technology trends
– Hands-on experience with CI/CD deployments and modern tools, coupled with practical AWS knowledge, including Fargate ECS, S3, Cloudwatch, Postgres, SQS, and SNS
– Extensive experience with container-based technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or EKS, showcasing a solid foundation in modern infrastructure management
– Strong problem-solving skills, emphasizing innovative product development
