Calling All: DSWs, SSWs, PSWs
A bright, energetic young man needs personal care workers to help keep building his social skills and foster his desire for independence. His brilliant smile and bright disposition will charm you as you help with daily hygiene tasks such as bathing and oral care, and his love for food will inspire you to cook great meals you can share. He’s not the biggest fan of housework, so he’ll need some help with keeping his house clean, but once the drudgery is done, he’ll have you out on the town for activities such as bowling, swimming, taking walks and visiting with medical professionals once in a while to make sure he stays in fine form.
As easygoing as he is, he’s looking for at least a year of experience and ideally, a college diploma in one of the following areas:
· Developmental Service Worker (DSW)
· Social Service Worker (SSW)
· Personal Support Worker (PSW)
He’s not a large young man, but the job does require some strength for transfers and to help him get around. Since his home is in Plainfield, Ontario you have to be close enough to the area to provide your own way to work daily, or be willing to relocate at your own expense. If you have experience yet lack the diploma, fill him in and he may make special consideration.
Patience, a passion for helping people, and being a team player are also essential attributes for the job.
