The Shining Through Centre is a recognized leader in the field of autism, providing service excellence in therapy, education, research, and awareness to children and their families. We provide intensive, comprehensive, and individualized therapeutic and educational programs to each of our children based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
About our School Inclusion Program
Shining Through has partnered with Kleinburg Christian Academy to offer unique ABA programs within an inclusive school setting. There are many natural opportunities to be included in daily routines and activities at the school with formal inclusion into the regular classrooms.
Each learner’s goals are created to develop the specific skills that will enable group learning and socialization to increase school readiness skills, and to promote independence, integration and inclusion within a least restrictive environment.
Position Summary
Reporting to a Supervising Therapist, the Instructor Therapist is responsible for implementing the individualized goals, objectives and priorities established for learners as well as the collection and reporting of data for their programs
Major Duties/Responsibilities
· Works with children, one-on-one and in group settings, to implement individualized behaviour programming developed by the Supervising Therapist
· Daily collection, recording and analysis of data
· Monitors learner progress and communicates to the Supervising Therapist on any matters relating to the development of the Individual Education Plan (IEP)
· Implements individualized Behaviour Management Plans (BMP) for learners
· Prepares daily program materials
· Provides daily updates to parents/guardians through an online platform
· Assists in learner self-care
· Participation in off-site field trips (pre Covid-19)
· Collaboration with school personnel
· Attends professional development opportunities and required training provided by Shining Through
Requirements/Qualifications
· Experience interacting and working with children ages 3-16
· Experience interacting with individuals on the autism spectrum (and/or other developmental disabilities) is an asset
· Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis is an asset
· Education in a related field e.g. Psychology, Autism and Behavioral Sciences, etc.
· Strong decision making skills to deal with daily learner challenges
· Strong analytical skills to interpret data and evaluate program effectiveness
· Ability to move around throughout the day and to engage in physical activity/play with learners
· Ability to function effectively in a rapidly changing environment
· Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently and within a team are essential
· Valid driver’s licence an asset

Salary: $40,000.00-$49,000.00 per year
