Shouldice Designer Stone in Shallow Lake, Ontario is a 3rd generation family owned and operated, progressive and growing manufacturer. We manufacture Stone Masonry product distributed to the construction industry throughout Canada and the United States. We require an experienced, perceptive and detail-oriented person to support our business objectives and drive continuous improvement with our team as a Human Resources Manager.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Employee retention, recruiting and discipline
• Health and Safety
• Organizational and space planning
• Maintain a company wage and salary structure, pay policies, and oversee the variable pay systems within the company including bonuses and raises
• Lead competitive market research to establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff
• Training and Development
• Work with the manufacturing team to support an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs including needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training
• Monitor and advise managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Monitor the implementation of a performance improvement process with under-performing employees.
• Policy development and documentation and adherence
• Manage compliance with government and in-house regulations
• Performance management and improvement systems
• Benefits and Pension administration

Education and Experience:

• Related field Masters Degree;
• 5-7 years experience in progressive HR generalist and leadership roles;
• Training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventative labour relations
• Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and ongoing community involvement
• Comfortable working in a family business environment
• Experience of leading and directing staff with a focus on performance and results
• Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
