What will you do?
Develop high-quality software both at a high (architecture) and low (detailed implementation) level.
Adheres to the software development process through the execution of module, subsystem and system test procedures.
Collaborate with other members of the cybersecurity and trust research team to understand, implement, and test solutions to the defined business requirements and any relevant standards and documentation.
As part of development performs unit testing to ensure delivery quality. Presents technical findings and developments.
Test, review and provide constructive feedback on code and developed software.
Software testing including hands-on validation of test cases, logging of bugs and opportunities for improvement, coding of automated tests, and identification of issues which may be encountered by the end-user.
Develop test software validation strategy and plan
Test strategy and test software design based on test specifications
Assist with the implementation and deployment of software releases and system upgrades.
Participates actively in both hardware and software component selection
Continuous learning of both cybersecurity and software development concepts.
Work with other members of the cybersecurity and trust research team to provide required support to end-users.
Create documentation related to the design and use of the software and related systems.
Estimates own work and provides such estimates to Team Leader or Project Manager.
Work in a cross functional, high-performing team environment
What will you need to succeed?
Degree in computer engineering
3-5 years experience in software development supporting cybersecurity
Demonstrated ability to effectively develop high-quality software in a collaborative environment (school or work).
Demonstrated expertise in some or all the following: object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python and/or C++), Linux and Windows operating systems, software testing, source code control (e.g., Git), debugging, profiling, GUI design (e.g., Qt, web), memory optimization, high-performance data structures and algorithms, multithreaded programming and software design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated through software documentation (commit messages, docstrings, etc.).
A team player; an ability to provide and be receptive of constructive feedback (through code reviews, design iteration, and the verification process);
Customer-focused; have the ability to prioritize tasks based on customer experience and ROI.
Willingness to learn and interested in new challenges.
Nice to have: experience building and deploying distributed ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) stacks, developing REST APIs.
