We are hiring for Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse/Human Resource Scheduler position at Harmony Court in Burnaby!
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Care Manager. Assumes a leadership role in coordinating all day-to-day activities related to HR and payroll. Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills are a must as well as the ability to work well with others and be sensitive to their problems, concerns and goals. Being ‘on call’ in the event of am emergency will be an expectation.
Responsibilities:
· Expectation of knowledge, daily practice and education within the Simpe Q Model of Care.
· Awareness and adherence of Harmony Court Policies and Procedures.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Role model for all Simpe Q staff.
· Stewardship of resident and facility property.
· Promote and maintain an atmosphere of harmony and a home-like environment.
· Commitment to continuous education.
· Maintenance and upgrading of immunizations.
· Commitment to providing the highest quality service.
· Commitment to team work.
· Assumes a leadership role in co-ordinating all day-to-day activities related to HR, including: payroll, scheduling, time & labour records and benefits.
· Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws and regulations.
· Adheres to Worksafe and Harmony Court OH&S policies.
· Aware of personal safety and supervisory responsibility regarding staff safety.
· Supports the Care Manager in planning, coordinating and reporting staffing levels. This will include staffing within the budgeted hours.
· Assist Care Managers in recruiting activities and position postings.
· Responsible for ensuring staff files are maintained and updated. Tracks annual staff requirements (eg. Licenses, CPR, WHMIS, FoodSafe) as per Licensing and OH&S guidelines.
· Administer and submit all required reports and documentation as requested.
· Responds to employee requests for information related to payroll, benefits and schedules.
· Participate in all HR and AGM meetings as requested.
· The most essential component of this position is to support and be in service to Simpe Q staff.
· Administrative and other related duties as assigned by the Manager.

· Job requires a significant amount of sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting and walking (according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC) Definitions, this job is considered “Medium”).
· Lifting 50lbs maximum.
· Frequently lifting and/or carrying objects up to 20lbs.
· May involve sitting with pushing and pulling or arm and/or leg controls.
· Must be able to handle stressful situations in the workplace.

– Dealing with aggressive clients
– Repetitive strain injuries
– Working at a desk/computer
– WHMIS & Control products (e.g. Cleaning products, skin & wound products, shampoos, soaps, antiseptic and antibacterial solutions, Oxygen)

– Exposure to illnesses common to communal living environments (Influenza, colds, GI illnesses, other bacteria & viruses)
– Plants and animals
– Needle stick injuries
– Follow all Covid 19 worksafe protocols, policies and procedures as outlined by the Medical Health Office, Public Health Office and the Health Authorities
