Simplify Supply Chain Solutions Looking for Dispatcher at Waterloo, ON Full Time

All candidates must have the ability to think quickly on their feet and troubleshoot last minute issues, while communicating with driver associates on call, handheld, or through text.

The ideal candidate will calmly handle both fast pace & day to day situations with a solution-oriented approach and communicate professionally with the staff and client personnel to ensure seamless operations.

**Shift Information**

• Day/Afternoon Shift time: 8am-8pm
• This position is rotating monthly.
• Sunday- Wednesday & Wednesday – Saturday

As a Dispatcher You’ll

• You will update TMS by creating, assigning, and tendering of trips
• Allocating equipment to drivers (driver bag).
• Handing out and retrieving driver bags
• Routing
• Answer customer emails
• Responsible for Simplify customer dashboard
• Driving to different work locations
• Weekly scheduling/planning of drivers
• Address problems and provide solutions.
• Receive and dispatch orders and updates to ensure deliveries are flowing smoothly.
• Prioritize tasks according to urgency and importance.
• Monitor the status of drivers and deliveries to coordinate and prioritize their schedule.
• Provide drivers and clients with information about updates and completed tasks.
• Enter data in the computer system and maintain logs and records of interactions, activities, and other information.
• Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required.
• Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have.
• Receive emails and accept loads for same day/next day deliveries
• Light cleaning of cargo vans & equipment
• Update customers on the status of their deliveries.
• Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately.
• taking responsibility for developing appropriate execution plans
• Achieving optimum resource utilization to execute the work
• Ensuring work can be carried out safely and efficiently
• Arrange/maintenance scheduling of vehicles
• You will be responsible for ongoing monitoring of the drivers and proactively addressing any scheduling issues that may arise.
• Ability to assist with loading of trucks, as required
• Prepare reports for management involving the evaluation and tracking of administrative services such as but not limited to such things as quality assurance, Driver knowledge, customer service, production, tire repair, housekeeping and punctuality.

• Keep records of the following:

• Pre-inspection log book,
• Hours of Service Log Book,
• Maintenance records of all vehicles and equipment on a weekly basis.

Monitoring

• Resolve work-related problems.
• Monitor work related accidents, and incidents. Ensure that incident reports are accurately and promptly completed. Report incidents and accidents to management promptly.
• Monitor accidents and incidents and track any habitual problem. Investigate situations for root causes, and provide corrective solutions to problems to avoid re-occurrence.
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the Drivers.
• Monitor personnel workloads and locations.
• Operate radio equipment and/or cellphone to communicate with Drivers.
• Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, tracking devices, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work when needed.
• Monitor driver driving behavior
• All other duties as required

• Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a relevant position
• Ability drive a cargo van- is a must.
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of instant messaging and order management systems
• Fast typing, with experience in data entry
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgement and critical thinking

• High school diploma
• Completed courses in dispatch, logistics, or planning is an asset
• Minimum of 2-3 years managing of transportation fleet
• Working knowledge of regulations in various districts, provinces and states
• Professional level experience with OPS systems and MS Office suite.
• English, fluent proficiency verbal and written

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $42,500.00-$50,000.00 per year
