Administrative Assistant – Retail

Skookum Bike and Ski Revelstoke/Salmon Arm is a growing locally owned retail shop that works with over 150 brands – in store and ecommerce. We are looking for a strong candidate for an Administrative Assistant.

Duties may include:

• Creating purchase Orders – create item codes in lightspeed, create PO’s for invoices from vendors, ensure PO’s have been properly received and closed reaching out to vendors if product is missing,
• Managing Ecommerce – packing and shipping online orders, keeping the webstore up to date with products, sales, etc.
• Receiving shipments – receive shipments from vendors, ensure product gets stickered and put away.
• Processing customer warranties – facilitate warranty returns for customers which may include contacting vendors, shipping or destroying product, and receiving replacement items or vendor credits.
• Working independently in an office located in retail store with the possibility of 50% remote work after training
• Entering data and sales orders proficiently and accurately in various forms from excel to online submission (training will be provided)
• Providing all customers/vendors with exceptional positive customer service.
• Processing cash outs – count and deposit daily cash outs, investigate discrepancies between cash and lightspeed’s cashout report.
• Work closely with owner throughout the day and reporting on progress
• We expect the candidate to be efficient, honest, respectful, creative, independent, modest, growth oriented and possessing an excellent customer service mentality

Education and skills:

• Post Secondary (preferred)
• Excellent command in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Tech-Friendly– able to adapt to new software
• Experience in Lightspeed (preferred but not necessary)
• Fluency in English (required)
• Self motivated, analytical and very detailed oriented
• Highly organized and the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills on the phone and in person
• Passionate about helping customers and being the ambassador of the brands we represent
• Candidate must be reliable, responsive and good at relationship building.
