JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance the incumbent will be responsible for the management of Skyservice Business Aviation Managed Aircrafts fleet by ensuring that all maintenance activities are accomplished in a timely matter maximizing aircraft dispatch availability and meet regulatory requirements. Managing a multi skilled team to perform fleet onboarding, planning and coordinating Skyservice operated fleet.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for Management and oversight of Fleet Maintenance, Defect Control functions,and dedicated AME’s;
• Establish the department and/or team’s objectives and priorities to align and support business objectives and evaluate periodically;
• Oversees and supervise employees directing daily activities, as well as looking after recruitment, training and development, conducting annual performance appraisals etc;
• Coordinate all fleet onboarding/offboarding; review, track and update fleet SB/AD;
• Forecast short and long-term maintenance planning, with the support and collaboration of Coordinators and Assigned Engineers, in order to maximize aircraft downtime and availability;
• Responsible for revision and approval of aircraft maintenance budgets, as well as presenting them to the owner/ client representative;
• Act as point of escalation/ liaison between owner and/or client representative for any maintenance related questions/ issues;
• Communicate out of service and MEL/CDL events to Global Operation Center (GOC). Review and complete MEL modification list;
• Ensure that respective aircraft maintenance tracking program and FOS interface are accurate and all applicable aircraft Fleet service programs and Technical records are maintained and updated within regulated deadlines;
• Review and update applicable Details Procedure Documents (DPD’s);
• Provide statement of work (SOW) to Skyservice F.B.O Inc. Sales department for upcoming major inspections and request formal proposals;
• Ensure proper support and coordination of maintenance requests with Skyservice FBO Inc. and third-party vendors;
• Review invoices and approve accordingly, as applicable;
• Review, control and update Maintenance Service Agreement (MSA);
• Monitor maintenance coordination for out of base maintenance and AOG’s and ensure that technical dispatch is completed;
• Review and analyze delays, disruptions, AOGs etc. and carry out root cause analysis to identify suggestions/ solutions for improvement, which may include process and procedural changes.
• Conduct Fleet/ SMS related investigations;
• Develop and maintain fleet reliability KPI’s to track/ monitor performance;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Degree or diploma in Aviation management is considered an asset;
• Must hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License for minimum 10 years;
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory position;
• Sound knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and standards;
• Ability to work well in a high-pressure 24/7 operation environment;
• Ability to delegate work, set clear directions and manage workflow efficiently;
• Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills coupled with the ability to foster teamwork;
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and high level of operational and tactical decision making skills;
• Ability to plan and prioritize sequential completion of task and process for effective time management and revenue loss;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Sound knowledge of aircraft tracking systems and aircraft maintenance planning;
• Good knowledge of aircraft, engine and APU service programs;
• Knowledge of Flight Operations System (FOS) is an asset.
