We service the OEM market including the agricultural, mining and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments.

Position Summary

  • To work closely with the Planning and Purchasing team with the principle and essential functions in production control.
  • To provide accurate and timely support to customers and internal support to other departmental groups.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and schedule production orders for the plant to ensure that the required products are manufactured in time to meet the customer demands.
  • Coordinate and monitor products through the complete production schedule through manufacturing
  • Create the Capacity plan for production and provide planned order completion date
  • Create, release and manage Production Orders in ERP System and maintain level loading
  • Provide a daily priority for forge and machine shop to run and changeovers required based on available manpower
  • Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Track machine capacity and advise management when capacity of any piece of equipment is stressed
  • Analyze bottlenecks, compare plan and actual production performance and suggests proper corrective action
  • Revise production schedules when required to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs or other interruptions, collaborating with management, sales, marketing, production and engineering.
  • Maintain and update Open Order Report daily. Review previous days’ shipment (full/partial. Follow up with supervisors when components are completed and ready to ship. Meet weekly with production to review past due orders.
  • Review Projected late Open Customer Orders Reports daily for accuracy, updates to delivery dates/reason for lateness.

Knowledge and Experience

  • University or College education with experience in production and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-3 years of related experience in manufacturing production planning and shop floor experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/accounting/engineering settings
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems along with good working knowledge of planning BOM’s and an understanding of material planning in this environment as well as material planning functions and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite along with Intermediate to Advanced excel skills
  • Able to analyze, interpret and evaluate information and system cleanup
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain key relationships with team members and other internal stakeholders
  • Supply Chain certification (APICS) CPIM an asset
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/TS 16949 Quality system.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
