How You’ll Make an Impact:
Provide HR support to Operations
Assist Operations with Human Resources/Labour Relations related worksite investigations
Liaise with HR Manager to provide guidance on Employee/Labour Relations matters (e.g., investigation results, issues of constructive counselling, discipline, provincial/federal guidelines)
Liaise with HR Manager in response to allegations of unfair treatment (Legal, Human Rights, and ESA complaints) and grievance resolution
Recruitment and selection of frontline employees
Training and onboarding of frontline employees
Contribute to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members
Work across the site using strong negotiation skills, superior presentation skills and influential communication skills
Heavily involved in the creation, presentation, and development of safety strategy
Collaborate with extended safety team to align Campus safety strategy with overall Sodexo safety strategy, ensuring the deployment and understanding of safety training and corporate safety initiatives and processes
Ensure all provincial safety regulations are understood, enforced and adhered to
Create and maintain metrics and dashboard analytics of safety results, identify trends, track and monitor progress
Provide feedback to management team regarding performance and compliance
Provide data analysis and recommendations to senior leadership regarding trends, risks and risk mitigation
Contribute to food safety, HACCP and some environmental safety within Campus setting
Effectively assist with incident investigation
Provide and participate in all training for safety
Responsible for Return to work, modified duties and injury management plans
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
University Degree or College diploma or combination of Education and Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in Human Resources and or health and safety
Experience in Labour Relations is an asset
Experience in a unionized and multi-site operation an asset
CHRP designation is an asset , Health & Safety certification
Knowledge of applicable health and safety practices and legislation
Return to Work, Claims management, WCB experience a strong asset
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to support and coach a diverse team
Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in situations involving rapid change, shifting priorities, and/or simultaneous demands
Ability to develop new and maintain existing relationships with stakeholders
Ability to take initiative and work independently
