Position Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for working within a variety of accounting fields to efficiently compile accurate information and help facilitate financial reporting to fulfill internal, external, and regulatory reporting requirements. The incumbent will be detail-oriented and skilled at managing competing priorities.
Key Accountabilities:
•Maintains inventory records and transactions, ensuring accuracy & completeness. Reconciling packaging/WIP/finished goods inventory levels (on-site and 3rd party), investigating and analyzing variances, assisting with customer credit/debit note validation, and complete all inventory month end responsibilities, all while ensuring data integrity.
•Key stakeholder for the internal capital expenditure process: including uploading, tracking, analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and reporting.
•Various sales analyses and reporting.
•Supports the Accounts Payable Supervisor role and responsibilities in their absence.
•Collaborates with stakeholders on diverse initiatives ensuring continual analysis and identifying improvement oppo1tunities.
•Supports external audit requirements through the preparation of accurate working papers.
•Other ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned.
Requirements:
• A Diploma/Degree in accounting or finance with minimum 10 years of accounting/costing experience.
• Successful completion of an Accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (advanced level in MS Excel) and other Windows Applications;
• Working knowledge of financial / operational database ERP systems (experience with AS400 is considered an asset);
• Achieves success when working independently and is a proven team player.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands through excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
