Southbridge Care Homes Looking for Resident Service Manager at Port Hope, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Candidates are invited to apply for the above full-time position to work at Regency Long Term Care Home located in Port Hope, Ontario.

As a member of the management team you will report to the Director of Care. The Resident Services manager is accountable for assisting with the management of all aspects of resident needs within the facility. This position will ensure quality resident experience through the effective, efficient delivery of established standards within legislative and budgetary requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the team in the implementation and evaluation of the quality improvement initiatives, risk management systems, data collection and analysis, report writing, procedural updates;
• Responsible for the scheduling of the entire Nursing department, including approving payroll hours as per the Collective Agreement.
• Assists with the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident services (i.e. falls, restraint use, wound management, Infection Control)
• Effectively manages utilization of resident services supplies
• Maintains an active presence in the Resident Home Areas mentoring staff while overseeing the provision of quality resident care
• Works collaboratively with the Director of Care and or ED on committees, special projects, audits and other duties as may be assigned
• Participation in Occupational Health and Safety practices, principles, legislation & committee
• Facilitate Occupational Therapy and Wheel Chair Representatives with concerns regarding resident mobility and addressing issues on a weekly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of three years experience in long term care; previous management experience an asset
• Demonstrated superior leadership and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be a minimum of 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time)
• Computer skills: Microsoft Word; Excel, computerized resident care and assessment programs
• Knowledge of applicable legislation, current healthcare practices; demonstrates concern and interest in providing quality care and service to residents
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices, principles and legislation
