Southbridge Care Homes Looking for Ward Clerk at Kemptville, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Applicants are invited to apply for the position of part-time Ward Clerk/receptionost, for our 160 bed home located in Kemptville, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Director of Care, the Ward Clerk provides assistance to office and nursing staff.
• Maintains the inventory levels of nursing supplies, forms and equipment.
• Maintains files/records such as current and/or discharged resident files, in-service attendance records, etc.
• Communicates and maintains positive relationship with staff
• Prepares schedules for Nursing department, replaces staff when ill, absent.
• Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education
• Adheres to policies and procedures for department regarding confidentiality, infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• As receptionist, reports to the Executive Director and serves as the face of SBK to the public
• Answers the telephone and redirects calls.
• Takes messages and assists callers as necessary.
• Greets visitors and directs as necessary.
• Meets emergency personnel and directs as required.
• Reports any unusual occurrences to the RN and/or Administrator in a timely manner.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Administrative skills, typing and filing. Computer skills required including in Excel.
• Skilled at interacting with the public.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Excellent organization skills, multi-tasking ability, and self-motivation
