Overview
Oversee all board and/or chain customers and liaise between the region and Supplier Management team to drive supplier strategies and initiatives locally to achieve the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). This role will also be responsible for planning and forecasting the AOP on an annual basis.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for the coaching, training and development of direct reports to drive commercial performance, grow market share and build a talent pipeline
Responsible for providing the Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits (SGWS) Leadership team with a business overview with regard to market share within the region, and other business-related updates
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track accomplishments tied to the AOP while identifying business opportunities and examining regional risks
Liaise with the Supplier Management team regularly and provide updates on programming and brand priorities, brand standards, and best practices leading to successful customer pitches and execution in the market to ensure SGWS commercial objectives are achieved locally
Responsible for attending Supplier meetings in person, bringing supplier strategies to life through new listings and incremental programming with key customers, and providing direction to the field on execution strategies
Responsible for building relationships with key customers, estimating/forecasting their needs and goals
Monitor field implementation and execution of national programs within key customers to ensure: product pricing and promotion in accordance with agreed-upon terms and conditions; effective discount management; adherence to product ordering guidelines and procedures; and management of program deadlines
Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability, replenishment and distribution; conduct spot checks on inventory and pricing for key accounts and collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure stock for regional programming and activations
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Identify innovative ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of leadership experience managing a team of 2 or more people
5 years of industry-related sales experience within the distribution, hospitality or supplier community
Comprehensive understanding of wine and spirits to include regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic production, and service
Must have strong negotiation skills; demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Goal-oriented focused, and assertive individual who needs a little direction or supervision
Valid Driver’s Licencse and ability to obtain and maintain auto liability insurance by provincial laws
Proficient at calculating commissions, and percentages, and reviewing comparative sales data for analysis
Stay apprised of federal and provincial laws affecting the beverage/alcohol industry within account responsibility
Physical Demands
Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
Work week will often exceed 40 hours including working mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when required
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
