Credit and Risk Solutions (C&RS) Sales – Americas
The Team: This is an exciting opportunity to join the Credit and Risk Solutions Sales Team, a focused and dynamic team with the opportunity to build on the last few years of significant growth and product development within the C&RS Business.
The Impact: The C&RS business has a strategic plan to be a $1B business globally by 2026 and is a significant contributor to the overall growth of the Market Intelligence (MI) Division. The product suite is a critical piece of this growth story as the distribution channel for Ratings proprietary content and a provider of models and workflow tools to underpin the Credit Workflow for rated and unrated borrowers, counterparties, customers and suppliers. C&RS has senior executive commitment to invest where needed to fuel these growth expectations.
We are at the forefront of solving new challenges for clients as the market and regulatory landscape continues to change. For example:
Understanding Counterparty Credit Risk, particularly in the aftermath of recent Bank collapses in the US and Europe.
Helping clients establish robust frameworks for integrating ESG factors into their Credit Assessment frameworks and understanding the potential impact of ESG on their credit portfolios
RatingsDirect’s rich and timely research helps customers understand the potential impact of current global phenomenons such as inflation and regional conflicts on credit markets
Many rely on historical ratings performance in times of economic turmoil to feed into future scenario modeling
Credit Analytics and ProSpread underpin large global corporations moving toward customer and supplier credit assessment workflow automation
What’s in it for you: This is a critical role in the C&RS Sales organization. As a Sales Specialists you will be part of a dynamic team demonstrating the growth potential of the C&RS suite with dedicated sales focus.
You will be an important voice of the customer with input into product and commercial strategy and as such will have senior leadership exposure in strategy and planning sessions.
As the C&RS business grows, there will be opportunities for growth as a sales Specialist.
The complimentary nature of C&RS products with other solutions across MI, means you will have opportunities to build relationships with stakeholders across the MI division and across S&P Global.
Responsibilities:
The C&RS Sales team will be organized into two teams:
Credit Solutions
Credit Analytics and New Logo sales team
The Credit Solutions team will be responsible for renewing and growing the suite of Ratings content products and solutions (RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, CreditPro and LEVELS) which contribute solid high single digit growth annually. The team has responsibility for renewing and growing the existing CS book, which makes up the majority of the Americas C&RS Book and the opportunity to partner with the Credit Analytics and New Logo sales team to collaborate on referral and broader C&RS growth opportunities. The Credit Solutions team will have a Named Accounts Team that is responsible for growing and renewing the entire C&RS solution set across some of our largest strategic relationships.
The Credit Analytics and New Logo sales team have a smaller but fast-growing book of existing Credit Analytics and Scorecard business to renew and grow with exciting cross segment territories in which to hunt new Credit Analytics, Scorecard and New Logo RD / RX business.
Both teams will have responsibility for Canada, the United States and Latin America and will be organized geographically. Within territories you will have exposure and responsibility to interact with prospects and clients across commercial segments including Investment Managers, Investment Banks, Private Equity firms, Commercial Banks, Insurance Companies and Corporations, demonstrating how the C&RS suite can underpin their Credit and other workflows.
The C&RS Sales Teams are supported by a team of Pre Sales Engineers to provide deep subject matter expertise to support renewal and new business conversations.
Specific Responsibilities of a Sales Specialist will include:
Meet individual growth goal / quota which can be achieved through:
Credit Solutions
renewing and growing a book of existing RatingsDirect, RatingsXpress, CreditPro and Levels relationships
selling new Credit Solutions into greenfield C&RS clients
Credit Analytics and New Logo Sales
renewing and growing a book of existing Credit Analytics and Scorecard business,
selling new Credit Analytics and Scorecards deals into greenfield C&RS clients
selling the entire C&RS suite (including RD and RX) to C&RS new logo clients (ie those with no existing relationship with the C&RS Business)
Build and execute on book of business/territory strategy and identify opportunities for growth and expansion
Adopt structured and disciplined approach to tracking activity, pipeline accuracy and forecasting
Embrace a customer focused, diagnostic selling approach
Partner closely with other internal stakeholders, such as Product Management, Market Development, Legal and Client Support teams;
Identify and develop revenue synergy and cross-sell opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
The C&RS sales organization values partnership, relationships, and communication. It is crucial that you model these attributes. In addition, we are looking for:
A strong commercial mindset with prior experience selling to, speaking to, or interacting with credit personas preferred
An understanding of fixed income / credit markets gained via experience at financial institution, asset manager or financial data / technology firm;
Strong communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills. Confidence in meetings, presentations and dealing with senior executives and decision makers over the phone or in person
An eagerness to learn
Creative thinking and problem solving to drive solutions that address client needs with the C&RS suite of solutions
Collaboration with sales teams and other stakeholders across the C&RS business and across Market Intelligence to identify and drive synergy and cross sell opportunities across the MI suite of products and solutions
