The Role: Product Owner – Upstream Spatial
The Location: Calgary, Alberta
The Team: As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day development of upstream spatial content into our multiple spatial delivery mechanisms. This position is responsible for translating product management and subject matter experts requests into actionable development requirements and making sure that those requirements are adequately addressed. This position sits within the data delivery an innovation team and has extensive engagement with our Enterprise Map Services and Global Spatial development teams.
The Impact: As Product Owner, you will be responsible for supporting the Upstream Content Spatial Data and Services delivery and service products in the North America & International Upstream Energy Content product portfolio. This position is responsible for translating product management and customer requests into actionable development requirements and making sure that those requirements are adequately addressed in the final product. The Product Owner works closely with the Product Management team to manage the product lifecycle, provide technical recommendations to key stakeholders, and is instrumental in delivering projects on time and on budget.

Responsibilities:
As Product Owner, you are responsible for communicating and translating the data vision, roadmap and workflow requirements into user stories and employing agile methodology to manage the execution of their development.
The Product Owner is key to the development team serving as a proxy for internal and external customers.
Working directly with the product management and product development teams to define and document product requirements and ensure they match client expectations
Translates content requirements into clear & specific user stories for development scrum teams to implement.
Plans, prioritizes, and maintains a healthy backlog of user stories aligned with product roadmaps.
Communicates the product vision(s) and serves as a champion of customer perspectives in scrum meetings.
Identifies and clearly communicates priorities, dependencies, and roadblocks to key stakeholders.
Evaluates, tracks and reports on project progress against the timelines, specifications and features defined in the product roadmap. In addition to development against specific customer requests.
Anticipates, communicates, and escalates delivery challenges appropriately.
Other responsibilities
Interacts with members of product development, sales, customer support, and directly with customers to provide subject matter expertise in our spatial product offerings.
Coordinates with other Energy product teams to exploit synergies and opportunities to share technologies and/or integration of products.
What We’re Looking For:
A bachelor or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics Engineering, Data Analytics or related field
Experience in upstream oil and gas with a deep understanding of the E&P lifecycle preferred
Understanding of spatial data, spatial development and management
Project management and Agile experience preferred
Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills required
Proficient in SQL required
Working knowledge of Azure DevOps
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Be an effective communicator, self-motivated, and able to drive insights into actions

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $80,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
