Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and outgoing individual to join the team as a US Southbound Customs Processing Clerk out of our terminal in Brampton.
Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift
Position Responsibilities:
- Chase customs for missing invoice/broker information.
- Send out PAPS to brokers.
- Know what paperwork is required to move orders to the US.
- Track shipments on brokers website.
- Keeps Manager informed of any problems, schedule changes, vacations.
- Find, fix and prevent problems/delays in cross border freight movement.
- Ensure that imaging, sending paperwork to brokers and stack manifest are done in a timely fashion to keep the freight moving to the customer as per posted transit times.
- Ensure that inland bonds are handled quickly to keep delays to a minimum
- Completes other tasks and projects as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cross border operations in dealing with Customs, Brokers, Shipper/Consignees.
- 1 year experience with PARS processing is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of AS400/TMS considered an asset
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with fluctuating volumes.
- Ability to rapidly learn and perform tasks related to the department, new regulations or process/procedure changes.
- Ability to work with and maintain an effective working relationship with our U.S. partners.
