Full job description
Sportscraft is growing and we are seeking a mature Skate Sharpening Expert to join our dynamic team in St. John’s, NL. The successful candidate will effectively interact with customers to assess, provide diagnosis and service their hockey skates!
Responsibilities:
- Interact with customers on a daily basis during the drop-off and picking up of skates, providing exceptional customer service
- Educate the consumer on the advantages of specific sharpening techniques
- Assess, diagnose and provide recommendations for maintenance and servicing while ensuring all safety measures are taken to repair
- Skate sharpening, profiling, holder and blade installation, and equipment repairs as necessary
- Safe operation of skate sharpening equipment
- Safe storage and handling of sharpened skates and skate blades
- Provide quotes for service, fill out proper documentation, work orders, and tagging standards for receiving, servicing, and returning customer products
- Maintain all equipment and ensure service area is clean and organized
- Assist the sales floor and answer phone calls when necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with skate sharpening and skate repairs
- Has a good understanding of the game of hockey and the equipment used.
- Previous retail sales experience in the sporting goods industry considered an asset
- Hands on, with the ability to problem solve and work in a fast paced environment
- Superior customer service skills
- Effective oral communication skills
- Recognizes the attention to detail that is required for both repairs and sharpening
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From $18.00 per hour
