SSA Recruitment Canada Looking for Site Superintendent at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for projects by managing the successful planning, execution, and safe completion of projects on time and on budget through strong collaboration and communication.
• Manage and supervise compliance with occupancy health and safety requirements and best practices on-site to meet or exceed all Worksafe BC regulations and requirements.
• Organize and lead the transition between the development and pre-construction teams into full construction execution by planning site logistics and executing enabling works.
• Manage trade relationships to best utilize and maximize their performance on site.
• Play a key role in securing new construction work by working with internal preconstruction, development, finance, and marketing teams.
• Recommend departmental and project process improvements to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
• Accountable for safety and human performance metrics, collaborating with the project HSE Manager and Construction Safety Officer.
• Confirm actual site conditions of projects by conducting site surveys and making recommendations to clients and design members on the best approach and constructability issues during pre-construction.
• Participate in business development activities by initiating and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, designers, architectural, structural, civil, and engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and other project team members.
• Responsible for all site execution matters, including the timely performance of the work.
• Lead and mentor by example to instill and apply best practices and top-of-market execution procedures.
• Manage and mentor team members to excel both personally and professionally, providing regular and ongoing performance feedback and guidance.

Advanced Construction Tools & Virtual Construction Work

• Assist the Project Manager and Preconstruction Manager in enabling works scopes before the start of construction, including abatement, demolition, fencing works, civil, and permits.
• Participate in advanced construction tools and virtual construction work to assist in maintaining construction and design certainty, utilizing:
• CADmakers
• Procore
• Autodesk BIM 360
• CMBuilders
• Site Logistics Planning (PDF – bluebeam)
• Project Planner (PDF – bluebeam, Project, etc)

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of site management experience in wood frame and concrete residential construction.
• Previous background in either the finishing trades as a finishing foreman or finishing superintendent.
• Post-secondary education and training in Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Proven track record of successful construction execution and delivered projects from start to finish.

Compensation

• Competitive wage and vacation package based on experience. Up to $120,000
