Job Title: Site Supervisor – Residential Excavation Projects

We are currently working with a leading excavation company who is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects in Calgary. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years of related experience to join their team and oversee excavation projects for residential works.

Job Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:

• Manage and supervise excavation projects from initiation to completion.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.

Site Management:

• Conduct on-site inspections to assess project progress and compliance with safety regulations.
• Oversee excavation activities, including earthwork, grading, and utility installations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and motivate on-site personnel, including equipment operators and laborers.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure team members follow best practices and safety protocols.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the construction team and project stakeholders.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and other key stakeholders to provide updates on project status.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues that may impact project quality.

Safety Compliance:

• Enforce and promote a strong safety culture on the construction site.
• Conduct safety meetings, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment, and address any safety concerns promptly.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in residential excavation projects (minimum of 5 years).
• Strong knowledge of excavation techniques, earthwork, and grading processes.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field is a plus).
• Construction Safety Certification (e.g., OH&S) is preferred.
