SSLC – Toronto Looking for English for Academic Preparation Instructor at Toronto, ON Full Time

Sprott Shaw Language College (SSLC) is seeking a full-time instructor for our English for Post Secondary Education (EPE) pathway program in Toronto.

This is an on campus position starting May 9th.

Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree (or Masters degree in Education or Linguistics)

· TESL/CELTA or equivalent certification (recognized by Languages Canada)

· Minimum two years experience teaching EAP or university/college preparation to international language students (international teaching experience is considered an asset)

· Excellent oral communication, clear pronunciation and enunciation

· Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity

· Thorough knowledge of English grammar and academic writing

· Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success

Role & Responsibilities:

· Deliver EAP lessons to diverse adult international students preparing for college or university in Canada

· Support student success by ensuring they understand their responsibilities and expectations, provide encouragement and advice for advancement

· Administer regular quizzes and tests, and assess academic essays and presentations to provide detailed feedback

· Record and monitor student progress through the duration of their program

· Contribute to the development of the EPE program and curriculum

· Maintain professionalism and coordinate with colleagues and academic team to ensure learning outcomes are met

This is an on campus position from Mon-Thurs 9:00-3:30 & Fri 9:00-2:30. Expected start date is May 9th, 2022.
