SSP America, a division of SSP Group, operates in airports throughout the United States, Canada and South America. Each airport team is comprised of passionate food travel experts who are committed to their airport community and achieving the airport’s strategic goals.
The human resource coordinator is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with Regional People Leader and local airport management in supporting the operations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. This position reports directly to the Regional People Leader.
Essential Functions
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will vary, Wednesday through Tuesday with evening, overnight, weekend work required and/or as job duties demand. Work on Holidays may also be required.
Work Environment
This job operates in an airport environment, both pre and post-security, both within an office setting and in a restaurant environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and multiple computer programs, phones, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to communicate with fellow team members and be able to accurately exchange information in these situations; deal with stressful situations and areas of ambiguity within the functions of the job; remain sedentary 75% of the time, but will be required to move about to the company’s location(s) within the airport environment 25% of the time; operate a computer and other office equipment, such as POS system, copy machine and computer printer; routine filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. about 25% of the time when filing and/or archiving boxes of files.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to establish eligibility to work in the United States or Canada. This position requires U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) clearance and/or a comprehensive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) background check or Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) clearance.

Minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in a human resource capacity
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Knowledge of industry technology tools, such as Vista or Success Factors.
Ability and flexibility to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Dynamic and positive attitude to support our culture and work environment
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organization, and follow up skills
Highly analytical, perceptive, and with sound judgment
Ability to juggle multiple tasks, effectively prioritize assigned job duties, and meet deadlines
Flexibility to support various operations work activities during busy seasons
