St. John Bosco Children’s Centre Looking for School age educator at Brockville, ON Full Time

POSITION: School Age Teacher (Ange Gabriel site)

Candidate must have school age experience and be able to converse in French.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diplomas or degrees in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth care, or Recreation and Leisure Services
• Bilingual, able to communicate with the children in French
• Current First Aid, CPR and a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen

COMPETENCIES:

• Strong knowledge of child development (4-12)
• Great interpersonal and relationship building skills with children, parents, and coworkers
• Creative, takes initiative, plans ahead
• Can handle stressful situations as they arise
• Ability to work independently and within a team dynamic
• Experience in a School age program an asset

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for providing care and education to children 4-12 years of age in a group setting which meets the standards of the Early Years Act, Code of Ethics and the Policies and procedures of the St John Bosco Children’s Centre.
• Programming, planning, and facilitating a balance of appropriate activities
• Guiding children’s behavior through discussion and logical sequences
• Communicating with parents on an on-going basis, regarding progress of child development and areas of concern in the children’s behavior, activities, and any physical concerns

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

Salary: Up to $20.57 per hour
