DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Screen all hemodialysis patients’ for symptoms of COVID-19 using a standardized screening tool. This includes in person and telephone screening. Maintain flow and ensure everyone entering the hemodialysis location is screened
Ensure hand sanitization and distribute masks according to mask distribution guidelines
Adhere to necessary policy and procedures related to wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ensure all persons coming to hemodialysis follow proper precautionary measures and wear the correct protective apparel as required
Refer individuals to advanced screening or placement within a room in hemodialysis or close to hemodialysis if required
Adhere to the necessary policies and procedures related to positive patient identification, including arm banding best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of a high school diploma
Availability to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights) and hours (4, 8 and 12), 7 days per week
Willingness to work in a variety of environments (nursing unit, screening booth) and to stand for extended periods of time
Willingness to wear protective apparel (mask, face shield, gloves and gowns)
Demonstrated strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
Thoroughness and attention to detail
Flexibility and adaptability
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Sound judgment and conflict management skills
Reliability and punctuality
Demonstrated ability to work co-operative with a variety of people in a team environment
Second language(s) is an asset
