Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a highly motivated, personable, and very organized Senior Team Lead (TL) for our Assessment and Permitting (A&P) team in our Environmental Services Business Centre (BC). You will report directly to the BC Operations Leader (BCOL) and work closely with the BC Practice Leader (BCPL) and TLs within the BC. As a Senior TL, you will be the primary contact point for the BC’s leadership team and will help grow our business through ongoing resource planning, recruitment, retention, and development of staff. Technical work will make up 50% of your time and will include leading projects for all stages of a project’s lifecycle including assessment, permitting and approval requirements, construction support and post-construction support.

Your Key Responsibilities
Work with A&P team leads on the operational management of seven teams of A&P professionals.
Communicate the organization’s operational expectations and execution of the strategic vision of the team.
Lead resource planning and management of the A&P team by monitoring staff utilization and availability and using that information to align project resource needs with capacity, skills and staff career goals.
Understand the skills and experience of the A&P team and use this knowledge to inform resourcing.
Lead and support discussions around prioritization of project needs.
Be the point of contact and communication for sector leads, sector representatives and project managers to resource proposals and project work.
Work with team leads to align employee professional challenges with their career plans and business goals.
Assist in coaching and mentorship for performance and career development.
Support Goal Setting and Performance Review process for the A&P team leads and work with BC leadership to make sure training plans and performance targets are identified and met.
Maintain a focus on recognition and morale building within the team and planning staff appreciation initiatives.
Provide on-going performance evaluation and targeted constructive feedback to team and assist in performance management when needed.
Collaborate with safety personnel and leadership to support mandatory training requirements of team members.
Initiate and chair A&P team meetings.
Attend regular TL meetings with leadership and Human Resources
Contribute to compensation, leadership level, career level and job category discussions.
Lead or participate with recruiting and onboarding of new personnel through identifying potential candidates, reviewing resumes and participating in the interview process.
Work with the team to drive new technical initiatives or service lines.
Lead by example to promote a positive and progressive team safety culture.
Participate in project work as part of the A&P team and achieve 50% utilization.
Qualifications

Previous leadership or management experience is desirable.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in environmental or natural sciences.
Minimum 7 years of relevant environmental experience.
Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations and guidelines.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
