Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a junior project manager / assistant project manager to join our Power team in the Lower Mainland. You will report through a Program or Project Manager on one or various projects. This will allow growth potential as you will be exposed to clients, design, procurement and construction team members, program and project management processes, and strong project leaders. You will have the support and mentorship of our leadership and expert Programs and Project Management team. In this role you will work under direct supervision, guidance, and direction on tasks and smaller projects, or as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Project Manager.
Your Key Responsibilities
Project management on smaller projects and programs
Assistant project manager on larger projects, performing a variety of selected tasks/assignments to develop knowledge and skills within a specific discipline (budget & schedule development/tracking, document tracking, coordinating comment resolution & response, procurement etc.)
Work is designed to provide initial experience and training under the supervision of a Program Manager, Senior PM and / or Senior Procurement Manager.
Uses standard procedures in completing assignments.

Positive attitude, and proven passion for project management.
Strong project management software skills. Prior experience working in the engineering, architecture, or construction field.
Strong analytical skills
Exceptional attention to detail, and resourcefulness
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments.
Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.
Advanced computer literacy with tracking, time management, project planning, MS Project, Visio, MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Transmission, distribution, and substation project experience is considered an asset.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is considered an asset.
Registered in Project Manager Professional certification program is preferred.
Up to three years of related project experience, preferably for engineering design projects focused on distribution, transmission, and substations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EPC work experience is considered an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers; Stantec offers a flexible work environment (a hybrid model of working in the office and at home). Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
