As a Finance Manager you will report to the VP Finance & Strategy, Starbucks Coffee Canada

and assist in achieving the company’s goals by providing financial leadership to the Product, Marketing and Loyalty team. This includes analytical and strategic support for new growth initiatives, business cases for equipment and product innovation, sales planning and forecasting, monitoring business and competitive trends and uncovering actionable insights that influence future priorities and initiatives.

This role will be working out of the Toronto Regional Office and will require the successful candidate to work out of the regional office 3 days per week.

As a Finance Manager, Product, Marketing and Loyalty!, you will:

• Lead Product, Marketing and Loyalty finance for the Canadian business by becoming an analytical thought partner to cross-functional leaders, driving profitable sales growth and leading a great team of finance professionals.
• Coach and develop a team of three finance professionals that includes an associate finance manager, a senior finance analyst and a finance analyst.
• Guide financial modeling to help shape recommendations and decisions. Projects can include product launches, promotion analysis, external partnerships, Starbucks Rewards programming, capital investments to support business growth, among others.
• Lead the sales forecasting and planning process for Starbucks Canada, working closely with cross-functional partners to develop building blocks for success in the short-term while mapping out long-term business strategies to drive future growth.
• Manage sales results tracking for Starbucks Canada, understanding key performance drivers and uncovering customer and business insights to enhance performance.
• Create executive-level presentations to communicate the narrative around sales performance and customer behavior, providing strategic and tactical recommendations to senior leaders and highlighting key upcoming risks and opportunities.
• Own results for our Starbucks Rewards program, understanding key metrics and performance drivers and uncovering insights that fuel growth.
• Manage the Discounts and Marketing expense line items. Lead the performance management process, including monthly tracking/reporting, quarterly forecasting and annual planning.
• Maintain close relationships with U.S. based colleagues, leveraging best practices from global programs to enhance the Canadian business.

Qualifications –

We’d love to hear from people with:

• Bachelor’s Degree (business, finance or accounting specialization preferred).
• Experience in a Finance Manager role, ideally at a large retailer or consumer packaged goods company.
• Sales finance experience is preferred.
• Strong record of performance management, financial analysis and planning accountability.
• Experience leading teams, including developing direct reports and establishing a team culture.
• Excel at leading and influencing cross-functional partners, with a solutions-oriented approach to solving problems.
• Proactive and ambitious mindset, willing to challenge the status quo to improve the business.
• Ability to deliver results through others, setting team priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
