Responsible for preparing and analyzing/reviewing interim and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant GAAP requirements for alternative investments (hedge, private equity, exchange and real estate) funds.

What you will be responsible for
As Financial Reporting Specialist you will
Perform detailed 1st review of interim and annual financial statements
Follow all best practices and internal control procedures regarding financial statements preparation and sign off on all required checklists.
Recommend and implement enhancements to procedures based on experience and changes to regulatory requirements, funds and clients.
Prepare more complex interim and annual financial statements:
Coordinate the distribution of financial statements to both internal and external parties as well as provide relevant supporting documentation and calculations.
Assist Specialists in the resolution of issues.
Take active role in the training, mentoring and development of Specialists within the team.
Supervise Specialists to ensure that pre-work is prepared in a timely manner and reviewed for completeness and accuracy.
Work with clients and auditors to coordinate and analyze all financial statements comments.
Perform other special projects or tasks as assigned.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field plus 2- 3 years related experience.
Strong computer skills – advanced knowledge of Microsoft office
Prior Fund Accounting and/or Financial Reporting experience preferred.
Position reports to Financial Reporting Manager.
