About the Role
Steelhaus Technologies is seeking a Junior Production Accountant to join the team to support the cost accounting and inventory control functions. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Project (Production) Accountant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Pre-Production
- Create production orders on the ERP
- Add material codes and bill of materials on the ERP as required for the production orders
- Create purchase orders in line with the engineering drawings
Production
- Post and reconciliation all raw material consumption journals
- Identify scrap entries on consumption journals and post appropriately
- Post internal vendor invoices accurately
- Research and resolve any external vendor invoice discrepancies or issues relating to production orders
Post-Production
- Support with the completion of production orders
Other tasks
- Post all production related internal and external invoices
- Support with the implementation and maintenance of absorption costing
- Complete inventory related month end tasks
- Support with periodic inventory counts
- Support other ad hoc projects or assignments as required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Diploma or Degree in areas of finance, business, or accounting is an asset
- Strong attention to data entry detail and accuracy
- Proficient in data entry
- Highly collaborative and effective team player
- Experience working in a fast-paced office environment
- Some experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly with reading engineering drawings an asset
