Stellar Creative Lab Looking for Lighting TD at Remote Full Time

Stellar Creative Lab is hiring top talent for a New Streaming Series for Marvel Studios.

We are looking for a Lighting TD who is a self-starter and problem solver. Someone who gets excited troubleshooting shot lighting and can help with rendering.

The Lighting TD role combines many complementary skills, solving technical issues, supporting and developing lighting tools and techniques for current and future projects.

Our ideal candidate has a passion for lighting and resolving Lighting and rendering issues to help the lighting team achieve artistic and production goals. 75 % of your job responsibility is the lighting TD role and 25% will be a Lighting Artist role.

Your Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with your Lighting & Compositing Lead and CG-Supervisor for solving CG-lighting problems
• Troubleshoot shots, whether it’s looking into assets, shaders, rigs, lighting setups, or helping with asset organization and scene assembly
• Develop tools for the Lighting and Compositing
• Research, suggest and problem solve efficient Lighting and Comp workflows.
• Provide training and assistance to the Lighting team
• Create efficient rendering setups in order to optimize render farm usage
• Create lighting setups and/or work with current setups.
• Be responsible for lighting, rendering, and compositing of your shots to a high standard
• Rendering non-lighting passes, applying lighting rigs and setups to scenes as required by Lighting & Comp. Lead
• Complete fixes or changes requested by lead, director, or clients
• Collaborate with other departments on solutions, workflows, and deadlines.
• Work with your lead to have a clear understanding of deadlines and task assignments.
• Meet deadlines and task assignments.
• Participate in Asset Look Development or Light Rig Creation for use by other departments.
• Work with others in your department to solve problems together.

Experience, Talents and Abilities we’re looking for:

• 1+ years of experience as a Lighting TD.
• Production experience with Maya and Nuke.
• Production Experience with Arnold and/or Vray is preferred.
• Production experience with a Render Farm, preferable Deadline.
• Previous experience with shot look development
• Proficiency in Python scripting language is a must.
• Creative problem solving and attention to detail
• A good understanding of the 3D Animation pipeline from modeling through texturing, rendering, and compositing
• Experience with additional software is a plus: Shotgun, Katana, and Deadline.
• Eligible to work in B.C
• This is a remote (work from home) position, but if you prefer to work from the studio this is also possible!
