STEPs on Arthur, a vocational training centre for adults with intellectual disabilities, is seeking to fill one (1) full time permanent instructor position AND one (1) full time temporary instructor.

JOB TITLE: Instructor, full time, permanent; full time temporary

STEPs on Arthur, a vocational training centre for adults with intellectual disabilities, is seeking to fill one (1) full time permanent instructor position AND one (1) full time temporary instructor.

Each of these positions will report directly to the Operations Manager(s) and will be responsible for the development and implementation of day to day vocational and life skills training to the clients in the program assigned. The instructors will be responsible for assisting to meet the financial goals and objectives of their assigned program and that of the agency. The Instructor will actively participate in providing support to clients, staff, students and volunteers, using a positive, team centered approach.

The successful applicants will require strong interpersonal skills, effective documentation and reporting skills and the ability to prioritize workloads.

These are salaried positions that may require some nights, weekends and holidays.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING INCLUDES:

A post secondary degree/certificate in the human services field or equivalency

Department of Community Services Core Competency Training.

A minimum of two (2) years working with persons with intellectual and physical disabilities in a vocationally oriented environment.

Experience is supporting individuals in Community Employment opportunities considered an asset.

Experience in development of formal programs for behavior change.

The full time Instructor position is included in the Bargaining Unit, CUPE #4536. Salary and benefits are as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
