Recreation, Parks and Culture with Planning and Development Services are looking to hire for the 2023 season!
Labourer I & II
Labourer positions contribute to the conservation of municipal land, and the maintenance and improvement of outdoor recreational opportunities through the performance of manual labour and tasks.
Labourers support Broadmoor Public Golf Course, turf development and maintenance, feature sports fields, horticulture and urban forestry, playground construction and maintenance, problem wildlife and invasive plant control programs within Strathcona County.

The salary range for these positions are:
Labourer I: $21.45 – $23.65
Labourer II: $24.09 – $26.93
Equipment Operator I & II
Equipment Operators contribute to the maintenance and improvement of outdoor recreational areas by safely operating a variety of self-propelled small equipment, perform manual labour and train other staff in the safe operation of equipment.
Equipment Operators perform work in areas such as: turf development and maintenance, horticulture, urban forestry, playground construction and maintenance and weed control within Strathcona County.

The salary range for these positions are:
Equipment Operator I: $28.74 – $29.93
Equipment Operator II: $32.41 – $33.76
Conditions of Employment
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
Current First Aid and CPR certification required prior to start date
Ability and willingness to perform various types of physical labour including moderate to heavy lifting (up to 23 kilograms), standing, bending, shoveling, etc.
Ability and willingness to perform duties in inclement and adverse weather conditions
Ability to work a variety of shift work
This competition may be used to fill future vacancies for similar positions within the next 6 months.
