Studio 549 Media Productions Looking for Video Editor at Victoria, BC Full Time

We are a rapidly growing video production company located in Victoria BC working on a variety of creative projects. We’re looking for a full time video editor to join our team.

Here’s what skills we’re looking for :

-A strong knowledge and interest in cinematography, colour theory, and modern editing styles

-Looking at raw footage, you can envision and explain a creative path to a final video.

-Looking at mood boards and inspiration references, you can emulate editing styles and colouring

– You’re proficient in DaVinci Resolve (or willing to learn fast) for both editing and colour grading

-Intermediate audio editing skills such as synching, volume equalization, and dialog clean up

-Intermediate visual effects skills such as keying and fancy transitions (or willingness to learn as required)

– You can follow instructions from storyboards and directors exactly, or work independently with limited feedback or supervision

– You have a strong intuition for identifying “best” shots from multiple options in both storyboarded scenes and b-roll, and explain your decisions in detail

– You can take multi-minute video and envision a path to a 1min, 30s, 10s edit

– Your computer is capable of editing 12-bit 6k footage

Where you’ll be working :

Successful applicants will be able to work with us in our studio in Victoria, BC, and able to work remotely based on scheduling.

Occasionally shoots will require an editor on set to backup footage, produce dailies, scrub footage and produce first edits.

Money Talk :

This is a contract/per month position with compensation based on experience.
