SubC Imaging is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer who is a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities. As our Manufacturing Engineer, your job will be to work closely with the Product Development and Production teams to develop and implement manufacturing processes and quality controls for new and existing products with the goal of improving and maintaining the efficiency of product production in order to reduce costs and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time position at our Clarenville office.
What you’ll do as a Manufacturing Engineer at SubC
- Evaluate, develop, and improve new and existing manufacturing processes by:
- Studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
- Applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, quality assurance, and industry best practices
- Conferring with equipment vendors, assemblers, operators, and product designers
- Create, update, and maintain user manuals and product datasheets
- Implement manufacturing processes and quality assurance initiatives by:
- Generating assembly and testing documents and guidelines
- Sourcing or developing required testing and manufacturing equipment
- Developing production jigs/holders and optimized workstations
- Generating, implementing and overseeing manufacturing training programs
- Manufacturing QA and efficiency:
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layouts
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production labor, material costs, and identifying process bottlenecks that affect production scheduling
- Provide manufacturing engineering support by answering questions, requests, and addressing production process or quality control concerns/issues
- Keep testing and manufacturing equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures, and monitoring equipment integrity and effectiveness
- Lead Change Management impact evaluations, generate and implement new product production rollout
- Maintain bill of materials
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or completion of a minimum of 3-year comparable technologist program
- Ideally 3+ years experience in manufacturing or product development
- Familiar with high-complexity, low-volume assembly manufacturing processes
- Experience with complex mechanical and electrical assembly manufacturing
- Ability to project manage
- Strong diagnostic skills, problem-solving and change management capabilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and technical skills
- Extensive experience in Manufacturing Process design
Added Value Skills:
- 3D CAD software (Solidworks or equivalent)
- 3D printing (FDM and SLA)
- Product development (Mechanical/Electrical)
