The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is located in Northeastern Ontario and serves approximately 6,000 students in 18 schools located in Greater Sudbury, as well as in Markstay and Killarney. Greater Sudbury is 3,627 square kilometers in area, making it the geographically largest municipality in Ontario and second largest in Canada. Greater Sudbury is considered a city of lakes, containing 330 lakes and the largest lake contained within a city, Lake Wanapitei.
Our School Board is host to and celebrates diverse cultures and is comprised of dedicated staff committed to high quality education that inspires and promotes lifelong learning. The Board is currently seeking a Clinical Instructor for the Personal Support Worker Program to join our dynamic team.
The Clinical Instructor is responsible for supervising and supporting Personal Support Worker (PSW) students during facility and community placements. They are responsible for instructing, monitoring student activity and keeping current anecdotal records on student progress. The Instructor ensures that students follow proper safety procedures and maintain appropriate discretion and confidentiality.
Essential Qualification
Current certificate of registration and a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
Registered Practical Nurse Diploma
Experience Required
Requirements
Strong knowledge of Personal Health Information Protection Act
Strong knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
Experience instructing adults is an asset
Demonstrated proficiency with word processing software, Internet, and email
Ability to provide regular attendance
Self starter and able to work under minimal supervision
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong leadership skills
Excellent skills in communication and group dynamics
Ability to effectively communicate and relate to people tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times is essential
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

April 15, 2024 (4 hrs)
April 16, 2024 (5 hrs)
April 17 – May 29, 2024 (7.5 hrs/day Monday to Friday)
May 30, 2024 (4 hrs)
May 31 – June 20, 2024 (7.5 hrs/day Monday to Friday)
Salary is $32.44 hourly, plus vacation pay as per employment standards, which is deemed inclusive of any and all entitlements.
