We are Timbre Games (part of the Sumo Digital Group), a new studio in Vancouver, Canada focused on making exciting, innovative game experiences. Timbre’s vision is to change the games industry through the original games we make, as well as how we make them. We’re building an inclusive, supportive culture that allows us to explore fresh, new (and sometimes weird) ideas. As a People & Belonging Coordinator at Timbre, you will:
- Partner with the People & Belonging Director to build a strong and sustainable Human Resources infrastructure that will support both Timbre Games and our sister studio Atomhawk Canada
- Actively listen with empathy and compassion to learn what our team values most so that we can elevate their workplace experience
- Guide and support our team through the employee life cycle to fulfil their career goals and aspirations
- Become a culture champion through developing processes, policies, and programs that align with the company values
- Partner with the People & Belonging Director on our equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging strategy and program development
- Co-design and update our Culture Code (employee handbook) as well as our People & Belonging Guidebook (HR manual)
- Lead and manage our people systems and platforms including (but not limited to) BambooHR (HRIS), Lattice (PMP), Notion, DOJO (LMS), and Favro (PMS)
- Organize, manage, and maintain personnel records and documentation; ensure files are accurate and up to date; provide information to Payroll and Finance
- Support the Studio Engagement and Talent Acquisition teams on developing a range of initiatives and assist on maintaining a high quality experience to all new team members
- Administer the immigration and relocation of our new hires by working with our Immigration Consultant and Relocation Company
- Monitor and respond to general inquiries on our People & Belonging Slack channels and email inbox
- Build and create People & Belonging Dashboard and various reports for senior leadership
- Prepare Employment Verification Letters and other employee related documentation as requested
- Continue personal and professional development, keeping up to date with legal compliance and progressive HR trends
What you bring:
- 3 or more years of professional experience in an HR role within a creative and/or technical environment
- Knowledge of the BC Employment Standards and BC Human Rights Code
- Proficiency in technical tools including Microsoft Office, BambooHR, Payworks, Lattice, Lever, Teams, Notion, Favro, Slack, or similar applications
- Clear communication skills with strong active listening, empathy and compassionate skills
- Ability to manage difficult conversations and situations professionally and with high integrity
- Highly organized and operational focused with strong attention to detail and a unique balance of people and process experience
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders and sensitive information
- Seeks to develop as an individual and as a team by asking for and providing honest and authentic feedback
- Highly collaborative and passionate about cultivating trusting relationships and creating meaningful workplace experiences
- Committed to co-creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive culture that encourages belonging
You may also bring:
- Knowledge and experience with immigration and global mobility is an asset
- Knowledge of the Employment Standards for ON, AB, QB, and NS
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Positive Psychology, Culture Leadership, or a related field

Although our roots are in Vancouver, we work with a remote, distributed team across Canada.
