About Sunnybrook’s Holland Bone and Joint Program and Division of Spine Surgery:
We are one of the largest clinical practices in Canada. Comprised of the Divisions of Orthopaedic Surgery, Spine Surgery, and Rheumatology, our Program performs over 5000 scheduled operations annually. As a Level 1 trauma center, over 1700 code trauma patients are managed through our Emergency Department annually. The hospital’s Division of Spine Surgery remains integral to Sunnybrook’s ecosystem supporting its Trauma activity, Cancer Program (Odette Cancer Centre), and provides comprehensive orthopaedic care for patients with bone and joint conditions. The hospital Division of Spine Surgery currently comprises six academic surgeons who are also members of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Project management relating to hospital division of spine surgery quality improvement initiatives
- Spine call scheduling
- Preparation of paperwork and orientation of spine observers, clinical clerks and undergraduate medical students, as well as clinical fellows
- Website update of spine program academic calendar of events and relating web based announcements
- Coordinate and schedule dates, venues, attendance, facilities and catering for meetings, presentations or special events as required
- Organization of spine academic teaching schedules/rounds each month including quarterly hospital based visiting professorships
- Facilitate administrative activities and paperwork supporting research endeavours within the Division, including interacting with Program research assistants and coordinators
- Respond to general emails, letter mail and phone calls in a timely manner
- Respond to requests for materials and general information
- Record keeping relating to above including computer and/or paper filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
