Surrey School District has an exciting opportunity in our Carpentry department! Reporting to the Manager of Structural Maintenance within the Facilities Division, the Carpentry position is responsible for a variety of projects including renovations, repairs, and new installations in over 140 school district sites and offices. The successful applicant must be prepared to work effectively in a small team, as well as independently, along side all in-house trades to complete top quality work at various District facilities. Experience and training in institutional facilities is a bonus!

This Carpenter position works 37.5 hours per week on afternoon shifts beginning at 3pm, Monday to Friday only. The successful applicant will have access to top-quality tools and equipment, a well-maintained fleet of vehicles and the beautiful District Facilities Centre located in the heart of Surrey.
Applicants Must Have
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license.
Interprovincial trades qualification (TQ) in Carpentry and/or Joinery with a Red Seal endorsement.
Experience working as a lock smith or desire to learn is an asset.
Sufficient physical strength and health to perform the duties of the position are required.
This is a unionized position that offer an hourly wage rate of $39.50 per hour plus a liberal benefit package including pension, health, vacation, and sick benefits. Expected additional increase to hourly rate in
July 2024, as per new collective bargaining agreement.
