Survalent is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic team player to lead our Web Applications team. Software Developer (i.e. Full Stack Web Developer) to join our Web Applications team. The team is responsible for delivering high-performance, scalable, secure, and intuitive web applications. You’ll be part of a growing development team and responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to design to deployment.
As a Full Stack Web Developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, and modern development frameworks. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and willingness to mentor others on rapidly-evolving web technology. Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Work with development teams, customers, and other subject matter experts to ideate software solutions
Design client-side and server-side architecture
Build the front-end of applications through intuitive visual design
Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
Write effective Web APIs
Test software to ensure responsiveness, scalability, and efficiency
Create security and data protection settings
Build features and applications with a mobile-friendly responsive design
Write technical documentation
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software
Work with analysts, support, and customers to improve software functionality
Other duties as required
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
5+ years’ experience in Software Development.
Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role with knowledge of RESTful interfaces, and, or microservices. We are looking for someone who has built scalable web applications and is looking for a challenge.
Knowledge on front-end web development (e.g. DHTML/HTML5), web standards (e.g. accessibility and cross-browser compatibility), and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular).
Experience within a spatial/geographic problem set and knowledge of tiled map libraries (e.g. Open Street Map, Bing, Google).
Experience learning and applying new technologies. Ideally your portfolio shows an ability to learn and develop solutions across platforms, with strong fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented programming, and software design
Familiarity with multiple databases (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle, Redis, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design will be an advantage. We build real-time web applications; they must be intuitive and responsive.
Familiarity with Progressive Web App (PWA), Service Worker, Cache/Local Storage, and Background Sync.
Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence, or similar infrastructure tools.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills and analytical capabilities
